Training mechanics for hybrid and electric vehicles

Our independent repair shop sees more hybrid and electric cars every month. Most of our mechanics are experienced with combustion engines but have no high-voltage training, and we are turning some customers away.

We are budgeting for certified training, insulated tools and a dedicated work bay with clear safety procedures. Diagnostic software subscriptions are another significant cost. Workshops that made this transition: how long did it take before the investment paid off, and how did you market the new service?
